Trekker Information Management System (TIMS Card)

TIMS Card or Trekkers Information Management System card is a must-have trekking permit for Mardi Himal Trek. It can easily be obtained from Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu, and the process of obtaining this card can be done within half an hour to an hour, depending on the queue level. To have a TIMS card, you must have two passport-sized photographs and fill out the registration form at Nepal Tourism Board. 

Annapurna Conservation Area Entry Permit (ACAP)

Since Mardi Himal Trek is within Annapurna Sanctuary Region, you will need an Annapurna Conservation Area entry Permit (ACAP). To get ACAP, you can either go to Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu or Annapurna Conservation Area in Pokhara, and to get ACAP, you just need to fill out the form and paste your photo and pay the fee. 

The total fee of these permits for Mardi Himal trek will cost slightly above $30.

The locals have a story of Mardi being famous. Around 1956, a Swiss citizen traveled to Mardi. Took photos and preached. He convinced people that it was beautiful. Then people started walking in Mardi. Camping started from 1980 onwards. It is now known as 'Mardi Trek.' People from all over the world meet here.

It takes only three hours to reach the base camp from the high camp. At around 3 in the morning, the passengers go to the mountains.
